For new system/game updates, is there something I could use that would allow me to download the updates offline without authenticating to nintendo's servers?

You can download the firmware files from google and update your switch offline with ChoiDujourNX.

Just want to say exFat adds risk of your SD becoming corrupted very quickly, especially with Homebrew.

exFat is more or less useless for Atmosphere. If you have the usb cable to inject payloads you should be able to install NSP files over 4gb via USB anyways. If not USB then you can do network installs.

I have to say I agree that I like this guide better too. I just read the entire thing and while it is significantly longer, it goes into a lot of detail in a noob friendly way. I think I’m ready to hack this thing.
