I don't know if you've played the advanced tutorials...

But if you use your shunpo (Flash Step) while guarding, you can escape attack. Just know if the enemy's sprite is flashing yellow, their attacks can't be guard canceled.
Also Shunpo+Attack button while being attacked by any non Super Special can be attack canceled but it will use 1 reiatsu (Spiritual Pressure) bar.
I think once you learn how to guard properly, you'll be a toughie to beat because I can't attack properly yet. I can combo pretty well, but I can't easily remember to low attack when you normal guard or jump attack while you low guard.

I'll give you advice that guarding in air can't be broken. Pressing L is a great way to avoid most people's bankais. The small and "minor" characters have terrible defense. Ichigo's Hollow thing has a higher ATK than Ichigo but a lower defense. And if possible only use Regular specials when needed so your shunpo bars will replenish faster. I started to get alot better when I gave up special moves for Speed and Escaping. And the 1st successful hit in a battle automatically fills your reiatsu by one.

@demonbart you post 2mins before i made this post and now your not viewing the topic plus you made a post just to say that you play it but find it too much trouble to play online with timezones. so why did you bother posting at all?
