in case i needed to get rid of it for whatever reason, willl it leave some mark on system software, or can i safely get rid of it? i think updating would do it, but i dont know, and i dont want to mess with my ds and break it...
Not sure really. I'm not sure if Gateway leaves traces on the system nand outside of the modified DS profile it uses to load the exploit itself, most of what gateway does is on the emulated nand on the SD card, and playing a DS game and not redoing the exploit installer afterwards is enough to remove the DS profile exploit, so unlesss the person who buys it off of you is smart enough to poke around in sysnand I doubt anyone but Nintendo's maintenance techs would be able to tell you did anything.
Yeah, playing DS games 'fixes' the DS profile back to how it's supposed to be.
im guessing using the installer cart for ds games doesnt reset it
it does
hmm thats to bad, seems like lots of work to reinstall it evrytime, i like my ds games, like super mario 64 ds. ill just have to use one of the other 4 ds's i carry around...
If its ultra just remove the launcher.dat file
it's not that bad plus it's still the easiest way to install the ds profile exploit.
To remove all trace of Gateway (assuming that you're using the DSmode exploit) then just run a DS game. Doesn't matter if it's retail or a flash cart. You can easily install it again if needed (you can even use an R4 if you lose the blue gateway card). And remove the launcher.dat obviously. If you're using the browser exploit then don't even worry about it, just remove the launcher.dat.
