When GC mode starts, all access to the USB ports and NAND is shut off, meaning a GC game has no way to access the system memory. Meaning that you can't load GC saves from the Wii's NAND. You MUST have a memory card to save GC games, no exceptions.

Alright then what about saving it to the PC and SD card for backup protection? Just download the second link and run it?
Plug in the memory card to slot B, run the tool, press minus to go to the backup mode and press A on the save to create a backup on your sd card.

Alright thanks. Will try that. Is there a code that will enable me to run GameCube Action Replay on my Wii? I want to finish off adding Melee codes but AR won't read for the Wii normally.

The download page led me to a summary of it instead. I clicked on again and now have 3 choices. Which of the 3 should I choose? http://code.google.com/p/gcmm/downloads/list
The "First Release!" one

Ok this download came with 2 files/folders. One is called gamecube and inside that folder reads "gcmm.dol" and the other folder is called apps and inside that one reads gcmm (a folder) and inside that folder reads the normal boot.dol and the other few stuff. Which do I delete and which do I use? Or do I move one to my root of the SD card and keep one in the apps folder?

What do you mean with "In the root" ? Copy the folder inside apps into you apps folder on your sd card and start GCMM with the Homebrew Channel.

The root meaning the first page. Ok so after copying that folder to my apps what do I do with this "gamecube" folder then? It readss. gamecube>gcmm.dol. Do I delete that or put that on the root (first page) of my SD card?

Wait a second aren't you supposed to put it in Slot A like you normally do? Slot B gives me this error message when trying to back it up. It says -5 Internal EXI 1/0 error. I will try slot A now.
