Is there a way to auto sync clock while on Atmosphere?

Currently have to manually run an nro to sync time or set it manually via settings. is there a way to have it auto sync clock automatically?

RTC in switch is not well calibrated and loses time. So want it to just auto sync.

I did once start making a sysmodule to sync the clock on bootup, it used code from the old ntp nro homebrew. I think there was some issue with it that stopped me releasing it, I could see if I could find the code but it could probably be done better from fresh.

Syncing from the Tesla overlay is quick and easy enough that I haven't given it any thought lately tbh.

what exactly is Tesla? and you still have to run it manually right? Id like something that just runs on a timer and does a sync once a day or simply overwrites nintendo's NTP server with pool.ntp.org or something

Alternative, if anyone knows what server Switch tries to use on Nintendo side, that would work because I can simply redirect that domain to pool.ntp.org on my in home DNS.

Switch doesn't use NTP so you can not redirect it.

The clock on my switch is always ahead of time by a few minutes every week or so.

do you still have it, or you think you got rid of it by now? although syncing only on bootup is not ideal, because then you never sync unless you actually restart often

I had an idea for a quick hack though. I could mod hbmenu using the code from switch-time, so that whenever you just go into the album it tries to sync the clock. the average person will go into the album often enough that the time will self-correct often enough, that a offset drift will never be noticed. and it's convenient because you never need to do any extra steps of running a separate app or opening an overlay just to sync the time

second idea is a 'forwarder' nro that just tries to sync the time, and then runs the actual homebrew menu. so you would set that as hbmenu.nro, and rename hbmenu.nro to boot.nro or something. this method would be compatible even if you dont use hbmenu (if you use sphaira instead, or if there is only one homebrew you ever use so you set it as hbmenu.nro to run it by default without having to go through an unnecessary extra menu first)

maybe it would be easier to mod nx-hbloader for that though, an extra step where hbloader tries to sync the time with a ntp server before running hbmenu.nro
