Is there a way to trigger any sort of exploit via USB on Wii U? If not, is someone working on a method? I can't get an SD card at the moment...

Just get a SDCard. It's not that expensive, even 2GB one will do.
USB is useless and is basically ignored by Wii U itself if it's not formatted to it's own format.
If it is, it's only used to store games.
