Is there a link to an updated beginner tutorial for modding a wii u?

I followed 2 youtube tutorial and I'm having all sorts of problem at every step.

I was following:

and

- I was running into problems such as controller not syncing in homebrew only (it was the fault of installing a plugin, not sure which of the plugins caused it)
- Then i had the issue where the games weren't showing up in usbloader, only the channels were loading. (the solution was to move the games to a different storage drive and plug it into the top usb slot instead of the bottom usb slot)
- But now the 'Start' button for the games are not showing up, I click on the blank area of the black screen and loads a black screen.

I've been at it for 2 days now and would like direction.

Is there a guide walking through how to load games?
Hey just saw this thread. I also modded my WiiU about 2-3 days ago. Let me tell you better forget about these vids.
wiiu.hacks.guide, GBATEMP and some research is all you need. First also started with such a video, but as you soon realized these are suboptimal at best.

As for loading games I suspect you want to launch your 'selfmade' backups? That is often a kinda more not liked thing. Because people often just want to download some. And I highly suspect also because of Nintendo being a bit litigious. Plus probably to keep the forums safer, after all it is piracy.
But just search around and you will find things that likely can help you. But if you really just want to back up your own disc's and load these files, that is easily do able in many ways and as long as it's kept legal a good seen thing. You could even inject Wii Gamebackups over Network into the virtual Wii (I think that is roughly how it works, didn't read too much about that)
via TeconmoonWiiVCInjector. There are really many ways

In my short experience with modding a Wii U and loading games I now have, you will only really encounter problems when these backups are not yours to begin with or you have some weird format of file.
Just remember to always make a NAND backup and everything should relatively work out sooner or later with a bit of reading.

Maybe do it like me and first mod the WiiU with cfw like aroma and your plugins etc. before doing the vWii (felt easier that way kinda). Or use something like ModMii

thank you for the information and replying!
I ended up asking someone on discord to help with the installation.

Yeah the videos were so confusing. I didn't have to do some of those steps.
