You have to use XP supposedly because the drivers are only compatible/designed for on XP. Otherwise it won't work. The software might work, but you won't get anywhere without drivers!

If the XP drivers don't work on your vista, do what I always do with XP- programs. Right click on it, go to properties, then compatability, and check the box "run this program in compatibility mode for:" and then choose Windows XP (Service Pack 2) There's a large chance this won't work, but you might as well try it as I have had XP only programs to work on my Vista by doing this. if your running the 64 bit version of vista, you won't get pass the driver install of said above method.

vista 64 bit doesn't allow unsigned driver install.
