Homebrew for me. But when the question soon becomes "Majora's Mask 3D or homebrew" I will have to go with Majora's Mask 3D.
This is where cards like Gateway will become important, because newer firmwares will be installable to EmuNAND while maintaining an older firmware.

But Cubic Ninja remains important if only because homebrew development shouldn't become overly reliant on flash card manufacturers.

Getting past the chapter 5-6 in the school books... kidding :P
Well I define level two as a basic understating of how the std library works, and how you create classes. (on top of the basic functions and such ofc)

Oh, stdlib! I thought you meant stdio.h at first. Alright, makes sense.

this is the biggest that has happened to the 3ds hb scene. Even though it is possible to create hb on Gw, those ppl are generally not intrestead in hb, they are mostly 3ds roms suckers :p

Plus the fact that all can use it up to 9.2 makes it bigger than gw! 100 % userbase is more than 1 % you know :)

>implying there are more Cubic Ninja copies than Gateway carts

in your dreams

There are around 50 000 cn. I dont have a clue how many gw there are. But look at the hb activity since ninjhax got released. That activity is at least tens of times more vibrant than it was when only gw could offer hb.

Edit: of course there are many ppl using cn from gw and sky3ds as well..

It happened mostly because of the massive advertising ninjhax got.
They made it look like homebrew started with it. Also people started working harder on ctrulib after that, improving homebrew quality.

Anyway ninjhax is dead now. It was patched on the first opportunity, as expected .

1. That massive advertisment brought more devs to the scene!

2. I like your logic :) that should also mean gw is dead now.

GW is as steady as ever, haha. How can it be dead when it allows me to run any games and use all the features of the latest firmware?

What I mean is, in the long run, will it be needed? There's not that many homebrew for the 3DS right now and I don't know if the exploit will remove the region lock. I also like to buy games from the eShop so not updating my system will be bad for me.

Well we don't care about your needs, some people want to run and code homebrews on their consoles without having to spend much money, this exploit is for them, you want free games and keep your console up to date ? Get one of those filthy Sky3DS or if you want a decent solution get a Gateway...
