Hello! I don't know if this is in the right thread, so ya.
Anyways, I had recently gottn my hands on a refurbished New 3DS XL (Pretty good condition ^_^)
And I installed B9S and Luma 3DS all up-to-date.
I then wanted to try to add a oothax save file to my OOT copy.
I then relized, i was running SIGHAX and not *hax.
So i uninstalled Luma and B9S (I am going to re-install it later.) But, before I did that i downgraded to 9.2.0 (Using safesys updater)
Now when I try soundhax, it says 'Cant open file'
Any help? (I did put the right files, i cheked)

The first question here is. Why. Why did you bother to remove cfw? the *hax entrypoints are really not needed once ya had the cfw.

When you did this. Do you remember what exact files were used in the downgrade. I am guessing what you did was downgraded the main firmware so its 9.2.0. But likely the downgrader did not include the side apps such as 3ds sound. So its still at 11.9 which would remain on a non usable one for soundhax. If you can verify everyfile downloaded to check if it did happen.

unless you downgraded and there was no cart updates you should be fine.

Er, you are probably right. Do you know where there is a CIA pack with the sound?

Just use soundhax to set up CFW again, 9.2.0 was a rare firmware several years ago, not anymore, you can get CFW on any firmware now a day. The guide below is enough to take care of you.

Is that still possible when OP already updated everything to 11.9 and downgraded to 9.2? Would the sound app of been affected or is it still at 11.9 while the main system is 9.2 now?

Well he can always use other methods, I thought he was on still on 9.2.0-20U, it is different now a day compare to reinand cfw days, no needs to waste time downgrading, it is not like someone will pay crazy amount for 9.2.0-20U devices nowadays.

Since you are on 11.9, go with either seedminer or ntrboothax, don't waste time downgrading, downgrading back in the days does have the risk of brick, I got lucky downgraded a few units for a friend.

So is there a way to get OoTHax on a card with SIGhax?

Doesn't work on 11.9, userland homebrew entry is different than CFW setup entry point, base on your current firmware you can do either seedminer, fredminer, ntrboothax, and the hardest is hardmod, ntrboothax is my preference personally.

Ok then. I have one issue, though. I installed homebrew with ntrboot for temporary, but now it wont install cia files?

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
