So, I just installed a d2cpro at a professional (finally).
I'm on 3.1U now, my question is:
If I upgrade to 3.3U will it detect the chip and brick my Wii?
Is there even any detectable modchips at this time?

Thanks,
Xandu.

While modchips are (I think) not detectable there is something that can detect if disc is real or not (D2CPRO bypasses it)

Thanks,
Xandu.

1. Trucha Bug? A bug in coding that let you sign and modify wii isos. If you only want to play games....you may not need it
2. But 3.1 doesn't have the new Shop Channel. Yes, I know
3. What are the known downsides for D2CPRO? Not upgreadable via DVD

The Trucha bug lets you edit the game, so you can customize it. For example, replace the songs in Guitar Hero.
Firmware 3.3 stopped these edited discs from working directly. You can still play them through Gecko OS and Menuloader though.

Hmm I see, I'll stay 3.1 then. Thanks kedest and swako96 for the info.

About the not upgradable part, what if Nintendo comes up with a new protection like Error #001.
Also what games don't work on D2CPRO? (Like for example SMG or SSBB or what?)

Thanks,
Xandu.
