So I've had my 3ds softmodded for a few years and hadn't used it in a few months. Today I went to start it up. At first it wouldn't turn on at all which I put down to it not having enough power so I left it to charge. Now whenever I turn it on the blue light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off and then when I press it again the blue light stays on and I can't turn it off. The screens aren't lit at all and are black and the 3d light and wifi light don't come on either. It will always turn on for a few seconds the first time and then get stuck and won't turn off the second time until I remove the battery.

I've tried removing the battery and that is the only way to turn it off every second time I turn it on.

I've tried doing the recovery buttons while starting it up but it doesn't change a thing.

I've tried taking the sd card out.

I have yet to open it up and check the wifi chips not screwy.

I'm just wondering if anyones heard of this or been in a similar situation who can tell me whether it's fixable or not.

Thanks in advance peeps

I think you bricked your console.
Give me some info about your console, like version, New or Old, Custom Fimware? and that things. also, make sure you have at the least a NAND Backup if you did something wrong to your 3DS, like installing something, harmodding, etc.

Seems to me that you either have the Wifi card loose or you have a really outdated softmod installation.
Do you remember which system version you had installed? Did you used Gateway /and/or AL9H?

Your best options (IF THIS IS A BRICK) (and if you cannot hardmode) is to buy a powersave and wait for ntrboothax (+ flashcard compatibility list)
Then using ctrtransfer, recover your 3ds...

No need for a NAND backup just a ctrtransfer file that anyone with a d9wip 3ds (same model/region...) can create...

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
