Gaming Is Love Plus + brick Acekard 2i?

Um... Is it really "brick" if you can "unbrick" it?

It was my understanding that brick means the device is 100% unusable and can't be fixed. As useless as a brick...


But if you can reinstall firmware, then it technically isn't brick, is it. :\

Well, for people without another cart to fix it with, it is effectively bricked.

Well, it seems that a solution has been found. All you have to do is format the microSD with FAT16 instead and it will not brick with this game. Info was from a chinese forum and more or less tested to work.

i am not denying the fact that it BRICKS your flash cart
but what i am trying to say that this got nothing to do with AP...
if it is AP related then it will just brick almost everyone's AK2

not only people claiming loveplus is bricking .. they also say taiko no tatsujin/hakouki is bricking

maybe this is something team acekard should look into

Taiko as well? Pretty much unheard of...

Anyway, I will be getting a DSTwo since I do not have a DSL and it's a PITA to revive it..

Because of not everyone have the same problem, I suspected that something wrong with dump file as Normmatt mentioned in another thread (http://gbatemp.net/t239283-be-careful-some-games-break-the-ak2i?&st=15). I wish someone that bricked their card will reveal more information of file such as link (!!not be public in this site!!), dump's name & publisher, CRC, etc. for investigation.

Lol Yea LovePlusPlus Bricked my Acekard.... SO now I have to wait till next monday to fix the damn thing. Anyway yea, it IS possible for a game to brick a card. Chances are its NOT a clean rom, OR the hardware on the cart its supposed ot be on is slightly simmilar to an acekard or something and it saves data in the same place the acekard saves its header info. :3

Anyway. Good luck to all you who's acekards also got bricked the shit outta. :3

I had the same problem after trying to play a Japanese game called Tokimeki Memorial Girls Side 3rd Story. My Acekard 2i icon disappeared and not one of our 3 DSi's or old DS lite recognised the card that i loaded that particular game into. I was just about to throw away the Acekard when I came upon this thread about a game called LovePlus + bricking the cart. I tried the 1.4 firmware fix on the DS lite and am pleased to say that my Acekard is working again.
I had never tried to play a Japanese game before this, or any game in any language other than English (all my system settings are English). Does trying to play a game in another language other than that that is specified in your settings render your Acekard inoperable or maybe it is some unscrupulous types offering 'bad' roms that somehow brick the Acekards?

This is interesting. Maybe Nintendo figured out how to overwrite the boot image on updateable flashcarts like the acekard2i. Filling it with empty/jibberish data and making it none bootable anymore. Seems like a good approach at combating piracy.

Interesting, I wonder if they're showing us a sneak preview of the AP on the 3DS? Of course it'll probably be a lot nastier. I like your thinking Nintendo.

I'm guessing maybe Acekart handles Love Plus+ saves incorrectly. Saving (writing) incorrectly can cause corruption.
