Not this AGAIN! The 3DS and Vita are not direct competitors, they are completely different beasts capable and designed for completely different things. Completely.Decooter said:With the slew of amazing games coming out by the end of the year it's most definitely worth $170. Hell, it's worth $250 which is why I bought it at that price. So many good games coming out in the near future.
Agreed. I would rather have it now with only a few games, than to have to choose which game I wanted as I couldn't afford the console and all of them at the end of the year.

Nintendo have bypassed the console wars by being their own thing- Wii cannot be compared to PS3 and the 360, likewise the DS and PSP should not be compared- a lot of people have both due to the fact they are both so different that you can't choose one or the other until a few years and several hundred games later.
If Ninty had released GBA2 instead of DS, they could have been compared.

I'm with you,Costy.Costello said:everyone, don't buy it !
if the sales are still terrible nintendo might drop the price even lower
I'm buying when it's under $100![]()

By January the 3DS will have a pretty stellar line-up. In fact, a better roster of games than the DS had after it's first year. Have some patience!Chhotu uttam said:I'm with you,Costy.Costello said:everyone, don't buy it !

3ds still lack new games.
Off Topic- Hope ^this happens with PS vita also![]()

Well don't post in the 3DS forum? If you don't like the console or any of the upcoming games surely you'd be better off posting in the Vita forums.....koimayeul said:I don't like much 1st party Nintendo games anymore, and couldn't care less about stylus play and migraine inducing 3D
So i save up for PSV if it prove itself a worthy successor of the PSP (im fond of Falcom and Atlus games huhu)
better without PSV part?Weaselpipe said:I don't like much 1st party Nintendo games anymore, and couldn't care less about stylus play and migraine inducing 3Dkoimayeul said:I don't like much 1st party Nintendo games anymore, and couldn't care less about stylus play and migraine inducing 3D

Sidenote- I have had no migraines from the 3D, and will probably get a Vita once there are a few good games.
fanboy much?

It isn't the PSV part that bothered me, I have stated before that I don't see the two as rivals- rather as a pair of completely seperate things which will inevitably be compared mostly by people who don't really know what they're talking about as everything has to be a competition. The majority of gamers will likely end up with both due to them being capable of doing totally different thingskoimayeul said:better without PSV part?Weaselpipe said:I don't like much 1st party Nintendo games anymore, and couldn't care less about stylus play and migraine inducing 3Dkoimayeul said:I don't like much 1st party Nintendo games anymore, and couldn't care less about stylus play and migraine inducing 3D

Im with this, ive bought almost all DS console's *except dsiXL* and well why the hell not, i bought a 3DS, not because its the newest DS, but because this is a new system in the DS genre, completely new graphics, new additions, new games, the programs in it are new aswell (i also love how the friend system works, you no longer have to register a FC for EACH game, instead just register for the 3DS FC and play alongmisssmk said:Weaselpipe said:Not this AGAIN! Well said. I have already owned the dsl & dsixl plus I still own a PSP 3k. I need a new DS system and might as well go ahead and get the 3DS.
I've got news for you; when the PS Vita is released, it and the 3DS will MOST DEFINITELY be in direct competition, despite the fondest wishes your heart can conjure up. If two devices perform different functions, like a television and a microwave, then they are not competitors. However, both the PS Vita and the 3DS perform the same essential function; they are both, at their core, portable gaming consoles. That, by definition, puts them in direct competition; they are both vying for the same market, because many people will not have the money to buy both. Nintendo hasn't "bypassed" the console wars; they're fighting just like Sony and Microsoft. What you see is Nintendo's method of differentiating themselves from their competitors in order to attract sales, and both Sony and Microsoft have their own ways of doing just that. Microsoft has XBLA and the Kinect peripheral, Sony has the machine with the best technical specifications (which means prettier games) and a built-in Blu-Ray player, and Nintendo has motion controls and 3D gaming.Weaselpipe said:Not this AGAIN! You've found an oddly-colored apple and are maintaining that it is, in fact, an orange, despite the fact that you found it in an apple orchard and the sign says "Macintosh."
Also, your analogy at the end there is faulty; if you buy a lobster to keep as a pet, and not as dinner, then it was most definitely in competition with the pigeon. They may not be similar creatures, but they are serving the same role.
