If you want access to the new eShop, i'd upgrade to 5.1.0. On 5.0.2, if you are connected to the internet, you will be prompted to update when going into the eshop.
I went ahead and updated to 5.10, and all homebrew works fine with latest Hekate stuff. No real difference between 5.0.2 and 5.1.0 tbh. And you can always go back to 5.0.2 if you've dumped your 5.0.2 emmc. No efuses burned with the latest firmware.

Its not an app. Its an option from the Hekate menu.
