is it safe to downgrade?

Define safe. Switch not catching fire. No explosion. No toxic gas. Nobody died. Is it possible that some people died while playing with Switch. Yes. Is it likely. No. Probably less likely than dying at a casino.

UPDATE: It didn't work, I managed to downgrade the emunand but when I wanted to make an emunand for sx os the process was already reaching the end for some unknown reason so I updated the emunand again and for some reason the bluetoh of the joycon in that emunand now they were not working ._. but in the stock sysnand and sysnand with athmosphere yes so it's a problem with the emummc so I'm making another one, does anyone know why that happened? It seems strange to me xd but well in the sysnand they work so nothing happens

I am just confused beyond belief why you would WANT SXOS at this point.
Is there something I am missing here? You can't boot it without a license, and it doesn't support anything on the latest firmware, unless you have a bunch of patched NSP/XCI files.

I just don't see any possible benefit to you, especially considering that the functionality of both SXOS and Atmosphere is just to give you CFW where you can boot homebrew and totally legal backups of games you ripped from your own cartridges, which is obviously the only thing any of us have ever used CFW for on the Switch.

Pretty sure it didn't work because you need the SX Bootloader menu to make the emunand and to enable it.

just try it, curious

What I am saying is, it has absolutely zero difference to what you are already doing. I migrated from SXOS last year on two different Switch consoles. It makes literally no difference once you have booted into CFW.

I stuck with SXOS far longer than I should have, to be honest. Once I switched over, I felt silly for taking so long, because not only were there no benefits to staying on SXOS, but Atmosphere can run things like MissionControl that SXOS will never be able to do.

Seems like a lot of wasted effort.

At least now I know that if I downgrade the bluetoh of the joycon dies, I fixed it, I just deleted the emunand that I downgraded and created another one xd so time wasted at all it was not

Seriously though if you have no license why bother going through this whole trouble.

Take my advice. Use a different memory card if you are going to try to test whether you can downgrade to an SXOS-compatible emuNAND firmware.

You don't want to mess with the card you use for daily gaming all that much if you are trying to just mess around and test stuff out. It's a bitch to try to recover a messy SD card.

I would like to know if I could downgrade my SYSNAND from 11.0.1 back to 11.0 so I can use SXOS on my sysnand. For using usb HDD loading on sysnand while I have 15+ emunand atmosphere on my SD card.

It would save me from having to switch to my emunand sxos sdcard cus switching as cards often is dangerous for the SD card reader.

Yes you can downgrade from 11.0.1 to 11.0.0 on Sysnand and run 15.0.1 on emunand. If you’ve gone online with your Sysnand, the downgrade will be a red flag.
(make backups and understand what you’re getting in to so you don’t get banned. We’re all adults here.)

Alternatively you can also dual boot two partition based Emunands if you would like and even shrink the SXOS Emunand to 4G to save space. This is how I have my Switch configured BTW. My Sysnand is 100% untouched.

Here’s the tut to do it:

My systems already banned so I don't mind.

I read that if I downgrade with ChoiDejour it'll fuck things up and potentially brick so I have to downgrade with that other app instead.

I think I need to do a bit more research on it. And mull it over.

It's safe for the hardware (other than wear). For the software you can mess it up real good. The one on switch can just be reprogrammed if you have a backup. ( if your brain is messed up there is no backup though )

You should be fine as long as you make good backups of your *NAND so you can get back to a known good state. The issue w/ Choi is it corrupts the BOOT0/1 partitions.

If you have original backups you can work around it but to be honest it’s better to do all the tricks with a disposable partition based Emunand and avoid the risks of mucking w/ your precious Sysnand altogether.
