Hacking Is it possible to play online games when using the region free hack via the homebrew channel?

I mean the fact that you cannot access the eshop because of that DNS change sounds like a ''no no'' to me, and with that I also guess you cannot download DLC and other stuff.
So is it possible? Or is my presumption true?

the games only check if you have the update installed, if you can manage to get the update in the game you could but if you cannot then only offline for that particular game
