Hardware is it easy to replace a juystick on a old 3ds xl?

Basically the joy stick on my old 3ds xl is half broken. I'm wondering how hard it is to replace it. I have the specialty tri wing screwdriver for working on older Nintendo systems but I've never messed with a 3ds. Normally I wouldn't bother and just sell it and get the new 2dsxl but it has an older firmware and I've been thinking I want to mess around with homebrew. So is it one of those things that you can technically do it but are more likely to fully break it or is it an easy thing to replace the joy stick on an old 3ds xl?

i want to know this... i have an old3ds xl too, my circle pad don't have the rubber and plastic circle, just the stick xd

Pretty easy, look up a ifixit guide.
