@g00s3y it's not God's responsibility to make the world perfect. There is usually a reason for bad things happening, combined with the fact that, in a world where nothing bad happens, nothing "good" would happen either. Ever heard of yin and yang?

But I won't worship until evidence is provided of God's existence.

God is an asshole for letting people kill each other over religion. Instead of coming down and letting people know which one is the correct one so that the bloodshed will end.

I don't believe so. If God does exist it means the world is more f*cked up than it currently is because there's some magic man in the sky who either creates or allows deadly diseases to exist, if not deliberately infecting people. I especially hate the God's plan narrative religious nuts try to push because it means all the messed up stuff that happens is done on purpose, but then anything they don't like is dismissed as being because of free will they say God gave to humans.

@RedBlueGreen As I stated above, God doesn't exist to solve all of the world's problems. He created the world, but his job isn't to make everything perfect. Like I said, we wouldn't know what happiness even is without sadness existing. So, if life were perfect with 0 hardships or obstacles, we would take EVERYTHING for granted, and be completely useless, because we wouldn't have any experience or knowledge of how to solve problems. Same as one's personal life, the more hardships you go through, the more you appreciate luxuries.

There is lots of God's. Why believe in the one you believe in? Pascal's wager wouldn't work if you believe in the wrong God, because you would anger the real God. What if the real God is like the one in the Abrahamic Bible, the one that doesn't want you to be worshiping false Gods. One that would punish you for worshiping a false god. So there is something to be lost with the Pascals Wager if you pick the wrong religion, in this case.

You don't want to anger your God right? So why doesn't God tell you the correct religion to follow? So that you won't anger it. God is basically making you gamble, pick a religion and hope it's right. God thinks your life should be treated like a gamble, like it's nothing then just a game that hope you get the right answer.

If right you win and please your God. If wrong then you anger your God. You life is nothing more then just a lottery game to God.

Look how complex we are from and how our bodies function. It would be hard to believe we weren’t created by a superior being. Look at nature and everything going on around us. U have the people who believe in science and how we came about but maybe God is the scientist that laid the groundwork. I believe in God. I don’t know if I believe any one religion’s perspective of God but think there are truths that can be taken from all. The only thing that bothers me are churches being commercialized and being in the business of making money and not just putting the truth out there. I used to enjoy going to local church in town but now it got bought out and is corporatized.

No one can say for sure, the ppl that have that answer can't communicate that to us. but i personally don't believe. i cant understand the suffering of millions of innocent life's (children starving, war and the unfair equality of wealth in the world.) if there is a God in my mind he do not care about us, and do not deserve to be worshiped by me... but if u find some kind of comfort in believing so, u have the right to do. But i don't.

If you truly believe in something, then nothing will change your mind. You will see everything from this perspective. Maybe the matter is not "what do I believe?", but "what do I need?". If you figure out what you really need, I believe you will find it.

Many people try to follow a dogmatic practice of religious scripts and will often find themselves in cults that try to sway the heart. If you can be honest with your interpretation, then the historical texts won't go to waste as the heart is the authority in the interpretation. As long as you can see that there is no ill intent in the scriptures that you read, you can see what you need to see and how it applies to you.

I personally interpret the Satan vs God differently than most that I know. Though I do think Satan is the great deceiver, I do not think he was lying about what he actually said. He just convinced Adam and Even to make a choice to go down the long and winding road of pain and pleasure at the expense of the path of bliss, which is the ill intent considered "the great lie". The outcome of which, is that we shall become as gods, but also still be in perpetual war with each others' desires. From that, it is interpreted that suffering is our (humanity's) creation--with Satan's goading.

It doesn't make sense to say God exists or God doesn't exist to me, because there is clearly an idea and that idea came from somewhere. The idea, at least, exists and nobody that I have communicated with gave me a satisfactory definition of that idea. I always knew that there was more and I will pursue that until I don't believe so.

God matched that pain by sending his only son down to get brutally crucified. The way I look at it there’s 10 commandments to follow and it’s not really that much trouble following them. It’s just being a decent human being. And all the evils in the world u could say it’s satan making u doubt God. Getting a glimpse of what satan is capable of in the after life. Logically it doesn’t make sense but just have to have faith that we will meet our creator.

@BlazeMasterBM First, there's no reason/evidence to think a god exists. Second, if you believe a god exists that is all-powerful and all-knowing, then when an atrocity occurs that isn't stopped by God, that's on God. If I stood at the doorway of a hotel room as a child was raped by a rapist, and I did not do everything in my power to stop the rape from occurring, I am very much responsible. That's what God does anytime an atrocity like that happens. There's also no reason to think that good things couldn't happen without atrocities happening.

@SG854 The fact that God hasn't come done and stopped people from killing in his name and settled who was right/wrong is evidence that this particular god, who allegedly doesn't want people killing each other in his name, does not exist.

@Tri-Z The human body and its complexities are the result of evolution by natural selection. There is no reason/evidence to think a god exists or created anything. In another universe where we weren't aware of evolution by natural selection, I could also say "I have no idea where the human body and its complexities came from," and that wouldn't be any reason to believe a god did it.

@tabzer I've truly believed lots of things before later (sometimes much later) changing my mind. As for God, Satan, Adam, and Eve, there is no reason/evidence to think any of these people ever existed. If a person cares if their beliefs are true, then they must require evidence for their beliefs. Being a skeptic and requiring evidence for your beliefs does not "severe the part of the brain that wonders, imagines, and hopes." It severs the part of the brain that is irrational. If anything, irrational beliefs like God and religion are what stifle wonder, imagination and hope. There's a long history of scientific curiosity being hindered by the "God did it" answer. Where did humans come from? "God created Adam and Eve." How did the Earth form? "God did it." What's the nature of the universe? "God made it." These answers abruptly end the hope, wonder, imagination, investigation, etc. If you are content with severing part of your brain that wonders, imagines, and hopes, go with tabzer. If you want to be a skeptic who embraces reason as well as hope, wonder, and imagination, then keep searching for answers about this amazing universe we live in, but you cannot believe a god exists until there's evidence to believe a god exists.

@Tri-Z The Ten Commandments are pretty nonsensical. Numerous commandments are about how God is God and you should worship him. Even if he existed (there's no reason to think he does), and even if we had proof of his existence, that's not a reason to worship him. Second, a lot of obvious things that should be commandments (rape, mistreatment of children, slavery, etc.) are not commandments. Third, the entire American economy is based on coveting things that others have and you don't. I'm not saying that's a good thing, but that's how most people live, and yet that breaks multiple commandments. Fourth, there is nothing morally virtuous about believing in a god. It's not "evil" to believe in a god, but it's not "good" either. Belief in a god is, however, irrational.

@spoggi There is no reason/evidence to think Jesus died on the cross, a god exists, or that any substantive part of a human lives on after death.
