Hopefully the contra 1 unlockable plays better than that shit that was on konami classics. can't even see the fucking bullets.

Not only will Contra1 be unlockable, but so will Super C. In essence, you will get 3 versions of Contra in one cart. Nice!

Wi-Fi is not implemented in Contra 4. Only Multi-card Co-Op. (Would've been awesome with Wi-Fi)

This game gets dumped on the 14th (Wednesday), it gets released on the 13th but the stores don't sell until 14th.

contra 1 will be unlockable ???? and what version will it be ? arcade or NES

I don't know if it's arcade or nes, but as far as I know, contra 1 and super c are unlockables. I hope they are nes versions as I like them far more than the arcades.

It will be the NES versions, so says the official Contra4 website:
http://www.konami-data.com/officialsites/contra4/

To me, that's actually kind of disappointing as they will be quite primitive looking compared to the actual arcade versions. Not to mention the fact that I already have both of those games on my SCminiSD's built-in NES emu.

Wait, I don't have this kind of info. but..

Is the Super C and NES Contra gonna look the same as their originals? If so, that's kinda pointless.. I have the NES version on nesDS and Super C on Lameboy.

So cool that you'll be able to have the Probotector chars

Probotector = censorship = lame.

From Wikipedia: "The early console versions of Contra (and sequels to the console versions) were released as Probotector in Europe and Australia. In this version the two main characters (and many enemies) were changed to robots - despite the fact the original arcade version and computer ports were released uncensored under the Gryzor title in those territories. One reason may be that Konami was concerned about worry over violent games in Europe; another theory is that they feared Germany's so-called "Bundesprüfstelle", an institution that watches newly released media to possibly forbid the selling of a game. In the 1980s and 1990s, dozens of games in which people are killed in order to progress (e.g. Rambo III), were added to an index that meant they were not allowed to be advertised or displayed in stores, and they could be only bought on request by people over 18 years old."

Thank God the UK can finally use the word Ninja in media that kids might watch. Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles and Michelangelo without nunchucks. I feel so sorry for anyone who grew up in Europe in the 80's.

To be more on point with the topic: I'm really excited for this game. I love Contra and I'm really happy to hear that it's really challenging. Most games are so easy nowadays.

From Wikipedia:

"Konami has announced that Contra 4 will contain several extras. These include:

* Original NES versions of Contra and Super C
* A 20th Anniversary Virtual Museum (box art, screenshots, and info on every Contra title from all territories)
* Two digital comics from Contra artist Atsushi Tsujimoto
* An interview with Contra Producer Nobuya Nakazato
* Five hidden characters, including a Probotector model (Probotector is the name used in Europe for all console titles before Legacy of War)[3]"

Does that mean that they'll have a port of the original game as a bonus feature? And if so, does that mean that it'll use the updated engine (graphics, controls, etc.)
