Can I just install this thing and play my backups as usual on my 2000? No button combos, sleep mode, etc etc?

Does it support most emus and cwcheat? I really can't find much info on this thing.

Right now I'm running 5.50 Prome 4 and tired of patching

Yes, it does. It's full firmware for psp. Just like previous ME CFWs. I'm using it on my psp now.

@emmanu888
5.50 Prome-4 installed means that psp is fully hackable.

Thanks, so this thing is for real? Any game up to 6.60 fully playable?

Idk, the most recent game I bought is 6.3x. Nevermind though I just found my pandora, gonna take the plunge in a minute

No it's just in case I hate the CFW lol But I just finished updating and it's good so far.

- nesterj and snes9x still work
- savedata still recognized
- cwcheat still works
- no more freezes in DOAP or FF4C opening movies
- no more red decryption screen

Basically everything's the same but better. So for anyone else considering this CFW, go for it

Sad that I only see this topic now, I have upgraded to 6.60 a few days ago on my PSP 2000. And yes, my conclusion is the same as yours, everything still works so it was a good upgrade IMHO. SNES emulator still works, been playing it for hours atm. PSX support is the same as on 5.50, PSP ISO's all work (upgraded to get FF 4 working). Very good upgrade, glad I did it.

Hellcat's Recovery Flasher can be used for downgrading without pandora

Also in Prometheus FWs I had glitches like: psp can't go to sleep mode and when fully switching off there was static noise, more like click from speakers. I hasn't happened to me (since June or so) after update to ME.

idk, so far so good... In the past couple of years I've went from M33 to GEN to Prome to ME and never had problems, but all I really do is play PSP and Nintendo games, no homebrew or media stuff

I wouldn't recommend ME, it's often "experimental".

I'd recommend the PRO series of 6.x firmwares... which are in the stickies.

WHY did it take so long to say this?

Thanks Rydian.

I second that notion; FYI Neuron (the guy who makes 6.XX ME CFWs) has also worked on PRO with VF and Coldbird (creators of PRO) to have his features intertwined with PRO. PRO is essentially ME with even more features (Popsloader support is testament to that). Yeah, ME is a nice piece of work, but like Rydian said, they are pretty much "experimental" or practically "Nightly Builds" and may not be as stable.

And yes, they are both real, "true" CFWs. Awesome ones at that.

While we are at it, I'm still using 5.00 M33-6, and havent touched my PSP since then. The reason is, I liked the stability that Dark_Alex's firmwares offered.

So my question is, what would be "losing" by upgrading to PRO B9

Also, is 6.60 Permenant CFW? or is that only 6.20?

Before anyone asks. Yes, we are about fully hacked PSPs (1000 in this case)

I've run ME firmwares since they first started showing Up and they work great They call them experimental but to date i;ve not had any issues using them and completed @ least 10 games on differing ME firmwares. as they come out i keep Current so. i would strongly recomend the ME firmware.

So all features offered by M33 are offered by PRO B9? and on the same degree of stability?

If yes, I think I'm going for it. But I still didnt get the answer for whether 6.60 is permenant or is that only for 6.20

6.60 is permenant on all fully hackable psps. PRO B9 offers nearly everything thats on M33 + other newer features. The only thing you might lose is compatibility with some really old plugins & homebrews

That's the answer I needed. Thanks, I'll try it soon!

FuSa TV plugin was added by Neuron to work with his ME firmwares! Games now run 100% speed, but with major glitches, including emus.

The only game so far it seemed beautiful plus 99.5% stable without any graphic glitches, was Breath Of Fire III.

Oh, and 6.39ME fw here.
