Hacking Is 5.4 basically as good as 5.3.2?

Going to have to update a friends wii u from what looks like 4.0.1. Other friend has 5.4 Smash Update disk ... is it worth it to track down a Splatoon or Mario Party 10 for the update or is 5.4 good enough for gx2 ?

Are there comparability differences between firmware ?

Yes, you just need to use a different userspace entrypoint, yellows8's MP4 exploit vs the HTML one everyone else is using, otherwise it's the same OS and loadiine and all other apps will behave the same

Correct, you can use one of the various websites that supports 5.4.0 or host it yourself with XAMPP or other recommended server, looks like there's also Mongoose and options for Android phones/tablets
