The Supercard team have today released their latest plug-in for the Supercard DSTWO - iReader.

iReader is an eBook and photo viewer that supports a large variety of formats and has a neat and intuitive GUI.

You can find the download and the instructions for setting it up at the link below.

in 'tips' it says zip. is zip supported? or do they plan to support zip files. zip support would be awesome

I have the plugin since some days now, I haven't tried a .zip file to see what actually happen...

It's the first version, and I must admit it's already pretty good, pdf do work, but if size is more than 10Kb, you'll have to wait for a very very long time, before the preview is generated.

Pictures load fast, it's IMO the best picture viewer, you really feel there is a powerful cpu behind that.

is the ireader compatible with ms office word 2007 (.docx)?NO !! - although not actually mentions on first post, on the download page it states..
QUOTEText format: txt?pdf?html?ini
Image format: BMP?JPEG?JPG?PNG?TIF?gif
Basically it's a Text reader - so it can only really show files that are basically TXT-based files (although strickly speaking - PDF are in fact Text and graphic based, but as mentioned earlier - it is a bit 'slow' on larger PDF's)

doc (& docx) files contain a lot of additional code - for styles, paragraph, formatting, highlighting etc - which the iReader is unable to 'read'

its good to know tht a flashcart has its own reader esp when resources are good to put it into works
pdf i think is still quite heavy for the DS so besides andspdf (mastermind), it would be very difficult to have something that is actually requires... definitely the 3ds will have better support

is it epub compatible?

it only loads the following formats...

Text format:
• txt
• pdf (with or without images -- color images are supported)
• html (static html only -- no image, java, etc)
• ini

Image format:
• BMP
• JPEG
• JPG
• PNG
• TIF
• Gif (only 1 frame images)

all supported formats can be stored inside .zip files as well and accessed as virtual sub-directories. rar and 7z are not supported. all other formats come up as a "?" icon and can not be loaded.

i will be writing an official review supplement to my SCDS2 review here at GBATemp, sometime soon!

whenever I try to bookmark this program freezes on me. Is there a newer version out yet ? 1.1 perhaps ?
