Apple Ipod touch 3rd gen jailbreak help!

I just got my Ipod touch 3rd gen I ordered from ebay and I want to jailbreak it
I want to know what program to use and if the jailbreak is reverseable?

pretty sure greenpois0n.com is the way to go. it worked for my 4.1 ipt2, and I think it works even for the iphone 4. if something goes wrong, just restore in itunes. (or update when the make a new one, but then it probably won't be hackable for a while.)[restoring it would put you back on the totally normal apple firmware] I'm pretty sure 3rd gen also means you have an MC model, which is usually harder to jailbreak, but I guess greenpois0n takes care of everything. And if you like it jailbroken, be SURE to get SBSettings from cydia. it's helpful.

If you firmware is 4.0.1 or lower using jailbreakme is the easiest and it can be all done through your ipod

4.0.1 is iPhone only...and I used limera1n.it was alittle hard but anyone can follow directions...use limera1n or greenpois0n.

Limera1n and greenpois0n have the same directions... DFU mode. By 3rd gen, you mean 32/64gb or 8gb?
8gb "3rd gen" are actually 2g mc models. Your best choice is greenpois0n if you have any of the models, or limera1n (which only works for true 3rd gen)
