I don't even know what those areI use Android but when I go abroad I am going to buy either a Pine Phone or Librem 5. (They aren't sold in my country)
They are Linux based (Android uses Linux Kernel too, but these are mainline Linux distros like Ubuntu, Manjaro) open source phones. They aren't as powerful as the new flagships (Pine64 having 2 GB of RAM) but I don't do play games that much, so it doesn't matter for me.I don't even know what those are![]()

What phone do you use then?Neither, I don't want my phone to be owned and controlled by some megacorporation like Apple or Google.

A small laptop with a SIM-card slot, the open-source phones like the Pinephone or Purism phones still have a long way to go.What phone do you use then?

this is too accurate.Iphones are overpriced locked down status symbol devices

I disagree. This was once the case for sure, but at this point iPhones are no more expensive than any other flagship Android device, especially for the hardware provided (say what you want about some things, but their mobile SoCs are actually really good). For example, the latest iPhone 12's MSRP starts at only $799, the same as something like the Galaxy S21 or the Oneplus 8 Pro/8T, and they started offering cheaper devices as well like the 12 mini which is $699, or the very budget friendly SE which is only $399.Iphones are overpriced

I see Samsungs marketing is quite effective with you.Iphones are overpriced locked down status symbol devices
If you want a phone that says "I'm basic" have I got you covered

Samsung is fairly overpriced hype too. There are more android phones beyond samsung (and in fact I have never owned one of their devices).iOS by far, even with a few limitations I wish it didnt have.
