Apple Iphone 3GS in the US

My brother is planning on buying me a iphone for my birthday and graduation since there was a price cut to 50$ but my brother said that we have to pay for a plan too and my plan is to bring it here and jailbreak it so i can use my globe sim on it, so can anyone tell me the cheapest plan and anything else i need to know oh and i live in the philippines and my brothers friend will buy it in the US.

No, they make you sign a contract; if you don't, they make you pay around $600 for the phone.

but do you happen to know the cheapest iphone 3GS here in the philippines? I would google everything myself but everything is so cluttered it's hard to find a good place to find a reliable price.

Yeah, the $50 price only applies with a 2-year contract. Also, it would come with the latest firmware and baseband, so you'd have to find a way to unlock it in order to use it on this "Globe" provider you mentioned. While there is a method to unlock it by using the iPad baseband, this process has several drawbacks and I typically don't recommend it unless absolutely necessary.

I think i'll just go with the itouch since it is cheaper is it a good idea? or should i keep searching for a cheaper iphone? oh and i don't mind with each since i might just be using them for gaming.
