Apple iPhone 3GS 4.1 Jailbreak

Hi guys
I currently have an iPhone 3GS 4.0 jailbroken with JailBreakMe.com

I understand that 4.1 is now jailbroken.
I have read the snowbreeze guide and I have a few questions;
1. Do I have to upgrade to 4.1 before starting?
2. Snowbreeze does not actually jailbreak the iPhone directly right? It creates a ipsw which I update my iPhone with by pressing shift and "Restore"?

Sorry for the noob question i Just dont wnat to kill my phone

That's just the guide which is on this forum and really doesn't answer my question
What happens when I press my iPhone is already jail Broken?

EDIT:
This is how I read the guide;
1. Load snowbreeze
2.Download ipsw for 3GS 4.1
3. Load into snowbreeze
4. Press build ipsw
5. Restore ipsw in iTunes by pressing shift and restore
6. Jailbroken 3gs 4.1!

Is this right?
 
Isn't green poison for the iPhone 4 only?

And I do have to upgrade to legit iOS 4.1 first?
 
JB for 4.1 is already out if you have an iPhone3G or iPod Touch 2G

Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 for Windows got released yesterday (Mac version was released awhile ago)
This JB is TETHERED for MC models
You need to be on iOS 4.1

IF YOU USE THE ULTRASN0W UNLOCK, PLEASE WAIT FOR PWNAGETOOL TO SUPPORT 4.1. DO NOT USE REDSN0W.

GreenPois0n is only for iPhone 4G / iPod Touch 4G / iPad and Apple TV
(Only iDevices that use the A4 CPU)

Apparently comex is hard at work for a JB for older devices.
 
Tethered means, it needs an external device to jailbreak it every time it runs out of power or if you turn it off
Your iDevice will turn into recovery mode each time you turn it on after turning it off (not sleep mode))
meaning, you have to jailbreak your iDevice every time again when turned off

Untethered means: Once jailbreaked, it stays jailbreaked
 
^ Tethered = you need to plug your device in your computer and run a program to turn it on. That's why most people have the habit of just locking their device instead of closing it.
 
I think I will wait - I don't fancy Jailbreaking everytime my battery dies (nearly every day lol)

Hopefully a simple "Jailbreakme" will appear for 4.1 which will be permenment

EDIT: Any unTethered methods around yet? :S
 
Yeah, Comex apparantaly found a new exploit, not sure if it works with your 3gs though...
 
Damn It! Whats the best thing for me to do now?
Just wait and see what happens? Because on the front of this forum there is a guide for snowbreeze which seems to work or is this guide Tethered?
 
ATM, every 4.1 JB already out is tethered for MC models
I will use the redsnow one (tethered) for my iPod 2G, cause it regulary charge it (it hasn't been truned completly off since the 4.1 update came out and i updated it)

for the ipod 4g i'll wait till sunday

Yea lucky for iPhone 4 users! Hopefully 3GS will not be forgotten :'(
If so ill be staying on 4.0 for a while
