Can someone help? This is driving me absolutely insane!
I have two Nintendo Switches. I modded them both using exactly the same guide so they both now have Hekate and Atmosphere on.
Switch 1 has a 256gb SD card
Switch 2 has a 500gb SD card –(system version 17.0.1 AMS 1.6.2 E)]
I transfer games to the Switch via USB. I don't take the SD card out, I connect the Switch consoles to PC via USB C.
I have a 5GB NSP file (and also the XCI version of the same game). I have dragged this game to Switch 1 and it dragged and dropped without any issues and has installed using DBIInstaller. Both the NSP and XCI versions of this game run fine.
I cannot however get the same files to work on Switch 2 and it's genuinely driving me into blind rage.
On Switch 2, when I try to install either of the NSP or XCI files using DBI installer I get the message “invalid NCAMagic”. Tinfoil also fails to install it.
I have some smaller game files installed on Switch 2, so I therefore can only guess that for somereason the Switch 2 console is rejecting files over 4gb. I suspect the full NSP/XCI file isn't dragging across during the drag and drop process, which would therefore mean only a portion of the NSP actually ends up on the switch.
From reading some forums, some peopleseem to suggest that files over 4gb cannot be transferred to SD cards(formatted to exFat). This however doesn't make a lot of sense to me as I can transfer files of any size to my exFat Switch 1. Why would Switch 1 allow large files but the Switch 2 wouldn't? There's no consistency!
I've also tried dragging the NSP from PC to Switch 2 using “Hekate's USB tools” but this tells me that file is over 4gb so it can't be transferred. I'm completely confused here. I have Switch 1 that transfers files way over thesize of 4gb so I don't understand why Switch 2 has this limitation with file sizes!!!!
I've subsequently completely deleted everything off Switch 2, formatted the SD card and started the entire modding process again and I still get exactly the same error!
I then bought another 500gb and get the same error again.
I am probably about an hour away from putting my foot through this switch. I am beyond exhausted at troubleshooting this thing. How can I get >4gb files to work on this f******g console!
