Gaming internet doesnt work but connection established?

What firewall software are you using? I'd turn that off entirely and try your browsers again.

You say you use a wireless internet, is that enabled and secured with an encryption? If it's enabled, isn't secured and you definitely know that no-one besides you uses the internet, we might be on to something.

You said you can use IM programs, does it sign you on quickly or does it take a while (say at least 15-20 seconds) to sign on?

I know you said you'd done a ping test but just for fun, what happens if you type an IP address into Firefox/IE instead of a url? (try 216.239.51.99 . If Google loads, then the problem lies with your DNS server settings).

Otherwise sounds like a firewall problem to me, have you tried disabling all firewalls (including the one built in to windows) and seeing if the browsers work? (Note this is not a solution, you can't leave your firewalls off permenantly but if it works then you know what the problem is and can then take steps to get the settings right).

yea i tried that and it works the settings are great and all that perfectly normal saying my laptop is connected
i tried disabling my firewall however to no avail even disable the antivirus(AVG) but still no connection
chat clients all work perfectly, as well as p2p and torrents all work fine
my network is secured w/ WEP and perfect

however i will say this i tried entering links into websites and it works say i click ndsthemes.com that works
but the weird thing is that about 95% of popular websites i am unable to enter such as yahoo,gbatemp,google
so clearly the internet works w/ the browsers as well but it seems kinda limited and all that
this is really weird so imma check for viruses for now

I must say this does sound quite fishy.

What you could try is to go into C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and check the 'hosts' file with notepad and check if there are any entries other than 127.0.0.1, localhost, specifically those that mention sites like google and yahoo.

yea im planning on doing that but im just prolonging it as much as possible

but i did do a reinstall on my other desktops 2 to be exact cause apparently they had problems that were literally "unsolvable"
but now that i reinstalled them i cant get any sound off of them or audio and that's what im afraid mite happen to my laptop
both the desktops i had were custom pc's like a few years back(still runs pretty fast)
so they're OEMs and i dont know the specs but they never had any sound drivers installed none that i could find in the audio properties but they were just connected to my built-in monitor speakers but now no sound comes out

so im still trying to solve that which prevents me from reinstalling my laptop

alrite so now i know the internet works for sure but when i enter browsers and since my homepage is yahoo! i cant click anything on that site like the new topics, maps, travel, and all that stuff. Also when i want to enter some sites mainly popular sites they dont work like gbatemp. Then the search functions dont work in the google, yahoo search engines as well as searching in sites(youtube)

but some sites like mediafire,gmail(partial), and etc.
and i could even enter my router ISP configs
i reset my tcp/ip settings, DNS, cookies, cache, and the router network but nothing seems to work
my desktop pc connected to the router has full access, while my laptop doesnt
i scanned for viruses,rootkits,malware, and spyware but still the same

can someone help me please its really annoying

I've asked you to check your hosts file to see if there are any added IPs on that list, have you checked it?

Someone i know had something similar to this recently found out it was the firewall so had to change it as it would not allow anything to do with net even when allowed
