Someone asked Nintendo by email, and they answered! Here full text:
"We understand your concern about the lack of service on the VC as of late. Due to sales numbers being far greater recently on Wiiware than on Virtual Console, we have decided to steer in the direction of WiiWare. Also, we in America have NO plans to update the Internet Channel or the Nintendo Channel. We hope you understand”

I've been able to mash together my own flash-spoofed copy. I've also set it to run on IOS60 (no real reason

).

Right now I have a dark skin for the UI in the works, haven't worked on it in awhile.

In most cases spoofing the flash version does little. I don't know anything about how that site works currently, but with the changed version number everything appears normal except the videos don't load. There's probably a small percentage of sites that don't actually use flash 8 through 10 features, but simply were compile under that, so there's a chance it might be useful.

me too. i'd love to watch soccer matches on tv rather than my laptop...

You and me both. I'm currently watching it on my PC and 24" Widescreen monitor but it'd be good to have some sort of backup just in case something happens to my machine. The PSP is out because it isn't powerful enough so I'm hoping some bright spark can get something for the Wii sorted.

I totally feel you guys. I would LOVE to watch wrestling PPV's from the TV and not on my laptop. Anither issue is flash quality... maybe some access to the HD streams. Youtube on Wii doesnt all for that regardless of the Wii owner having a HD set or not

I wonder if someone could make a independent homebrew program to watch HQ & HD Youtube in your Wii. You know, something similar to PSPTube.
