i thought once an nsp had been installed it was launched from the normal switch home menu like a real game...?

Only if you're in CFW (because Sigpatches) they won't boot without valid ticket on OFW.

I'm an idiot and I corrected myself. It was late and wasn't thinking straight ... at all. .NSP is Eshop format ( digital )

This is just a kiosk demo app, it has potential though. We know how it works, so it's possible we might be able to set it up as a sort of custom launcher (if we clear up the fact it's missing some key components like AssetData_DevMenuApp)
Then again, it might just be a useless nsp We gotta wait and see

I'm more interested in the InStoreDemoMenu's ability to play video files, which means that should someone reverse-engineer the file, homebrew could have video playback in the future. I could rip my DVD/Bluray discs and use my switch as a portable DVD/Bluray player!

That was also my first thought, if it can play videos there has to be some kind of media player involved. We need to extract this!
