Does it matter for any games if you install to a memory stick, even if you're running an ISO off of said memory stick? Just had to ask.

No, it doesn't. In a lot of games with an install option you can't even do so when running already from a memory stick.

It's debatable because there's two cases.

1 - The game is just doing that because the UMD is slow.
No help at all.

2 - The game has compressed data and stores it on the stick uncompressed.
This can be a help, but it's not confirmed which games do it (Peace Walker is a maybe) and nobody's really tested that I've seen.

The second one was what I was thinking for sure, since noticing that most games don't just have an "install" option, it's an install, then you turn the option on or off. I thought maybe certain games did and didn't? Good to see my suspicions confirmed. (Anyone know if a Monster Hunter 3rd install helps? Heh.)

Peace walker gives you extra sound effects only if you install to memory stick. In most games it won't matter.

Peace Walker isn't mandatory, it just adds to the Codec conversations.
