I've got a PS TV on firmware 3.51 and as far as I know I won't be able to install any nice hack like rejuvenate without a regular vita, which I don't own.

When I install any PS1 game using QCMA the file becomes corrupt, and according to: http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?p=397741

the reason is that I would need an exploit to install it properly.

So my best option is to install Vita FTP, but I need some help doing that. I would very much appreciate any help.

what exactly do u need...? can u use FTP on 3.51 ? why not update to 3.60 install Henkaku ... & use Retroarch for emulators & play PS1 games ,snes, gba ect ect
Thank you for replying. The reason I don't want to install Henkaku is because this PS TV will only be used for PSP and PS1 games, and google has told me that Henkaku is not the best option for that. I will get a secondary PS TV to use for Vita games. I can't use FTP on 3.51?

You can use a USB stick to update to 3.60 and use HENkaku.

Also, an eCFW is being developed for HENkaku, and it should be superior to previous eCFWs, as it was hacked from the native side, allowing for more stuff (such as the double analog plugins for PSP games). If you can wait till its release, I'm sure it'll be better than what currently is available.

I have to do more research on the PS1 emulation for 3.51 vs 3.60 but I'm quite sure I remember reading that 3.51 was better for it.

trust me PS1 games work good on 3.60 & the ps1 emulator will just improve over time .... just dont use Retroarch ALL IN ONE ( AIO ).. it has save state issues .. crashes
use this instead

If you are still adamant on staying at 3.51 until 3.60 eCFW arrives, I'm pretty sure you can install Rejuvenate for the PSM Dev Unity application if you own a PSTV, since Rejuvenate for Unity works over network. I did it with my own a long time ago as I was getting into the Vita scene, and got a few homebrews up and running.

http://hackinformer.com/psmplus/ <-- Instructions
https://yifan.lu/p/rejuvenate/ <-- installation folder

When you've got everything up, ready and installed, you can drag and drop the Vita FTP .velf onto the run_homebrew.bat file from your installation folder, then boot up the VitaDefilerClient in the PSM Dev Unity app, and the homebrew should run. (Takes a few tries, if I remember rightly).

Hope this helps!

Read this on your second link: "With perfect sound? Let’s hope so. No just like TN-V with “only” decent sound emu."

Did not know that the sound was nothing more than decent, damn. I will jump on board Henkaku once PS1 emulation is great.

I've read that there's no sound on PS1 emulation for 3.60, but maybe that's not true for all emulators.

Why? I was sure PS1 emulation was not perfect either for older FWs.

Thanks a lot. Will definitely try that, did not know it was possible to install rejuvenate without a regular vita.

Well, decent sound is better than no sound :).

I actually own most of the PS1 games I'd like to play on my PSN US account (I'm from Sweden, so my main account is Swedish).

It appears that there's input lag when running PS1 games on the built in emulator on the Vita, what are the odds a homebrew emulator will run it better? :O

dont know why yall saying there no sound in ps1.... in Ark I know there no sound for ps1 but ark is not even on 3.60 yet but with Retroarch PSX emulator the emulator and sound are great imo.

Pre 3.60 firmware hax = psx no or limited ps1 sound
Henkaku = retroarch psx sound excellent with no current psp compatibility and PSPEMU"ARK aka Adrenaline" still under development probably will offer unique ps1 compatibility as previous version and psp compatibility and unknown surprises.
ALSO Henkaku if you will = VITA GAMES TOO!!!
