Hacking Install packages from internal HDD?

I don't have a USB drive. Can I just put packages under "/user/data/" via ftp and install them like you'd do from the ones on the root of your USB? It used to be possible on PS3.
Alternatively, is there any FPT browser that allows to install packages by implementing this https://www.psxhax.com/threads/ps4-pkg-install-from-internal-hdd-via-ftp-bgft-method-by-flatz.5851/ ?

Note that I can't just use the remote package installer because I can't change the DNS on my connection, and I don't want to get banned or risk sending any dirty logs to Sony, so I can only use an FPT browser from my phone.

What firmware version are you on? You can install fpkgs using fake USB but you still need a usb drive but it doesnt matter how big it is.

btw, if it's 2TB or higher, it needs to be in gpt format as well or the pkgs won't show up. even though 2TB is mbr max, it has to be gpt from my experience for this reason.

I don't get why you're trying avoid a ban on a CFW PS4? To be able to reconnect to PSN you would have to update to latest firmware and lose your CFW. The only way to get the best of both worlds is to have two PS4s.

if you mean emunand, it will never happen. I've heard it's impossible on both ps3 and ps4, because both rely too heavily on an hdd. the ps4, for example, has 14 or 15 partitions on the hdd.

Would that require a patched cable like we did on the old xbox original crossover cable?

One of the RPIs I have works offline with my ethernet cable. I get great speeds I can install an 80 gb game in like 20-30 min.

A normal Cat5 cable is good, search "Auto MDI-X" for the details...

I just use an hdd to install games to an extended storage hdd. it's a 2TB hdd to 5TB hdd. works very well, but if I'm only installing like one game, I use a 128GB flash drive.

Thank you very much for the interest. I will try with a LAN cable between my PC and PS4 and use the remote pkg installer. Didn't know it was a think. I have another idea in mind if that doesn't work. As a last source, I will try "fake USB" (not sure what it is) or just buy a SATA to USB adapter.

Pc, LAN cable, Remote package Installer, and a good Pkg Sender (pc side) that’s the only thing you need. I personally compared speed between installing from an external usb3 ssd , 250 go (that, then, I keep for backing up my saves , or dumping my physical games, and use when on the road with my Nintendo switch). There’s no possible comparison between usb installl or remote. 80 go , 20 minutes. All games installed on my PS4 were done from my Laptop to remote. Being on the road travelling with my PS4.

the speed will probably depend on if you're using a gigabit connection on your pc. I don't have one myself, so transferring to the ps3 is like 10MB/s, so I'm sure I'd get about the same on the ps4. I think that might be the bottleneck. you could get two to three times that with a gigabit connection, I believe. this is only transferring though, not installing. I don't know the speeds there.

I do have a gigabit on my Laptop, that’s why I didn’t want to bother anymore with external usb, except for dumping of course. And you’re right, it’s the bottleneck

I get around 10MBs with a direct connection with the 360 too. the ps3 has a gigabit ethernet port, but the 360 doesn't, and I get the same speeds with both due to my laptop.

Your post reminded me that I haven’t “touched” my 360 ( Elite - jtag) for so long. Have to get the dust of it an play again with it. I sold my ps3 (slim on golden firmware) 2 years ago, and I miss it now sometimes, but that’s the way “it is”.
