Hacking install beta to 247

i got the entry holder fix for beta, do i just replace the dol in that folder with the boot.dol in the beta folder and then its ready to go. and can i play my dvd-9 copy of ssbb with this. thanks for the help.

You need the beta cIOS at IOS247 for this AND a special version of the beta entryholder fix loader which uses IOS247 instead of IOS249. If you have this, then yes, you only need to rename the .dol to boot.dol and place it into any folder under /apps/ on your sd card.

PS: SoftChip would be an option too.

tell me more about softchip. i have been watching it lately a lot. how do i get softchip to run dvd-9 ssbb. and does it have the same comp as gamma. thanks, you have been very helpful.

SoftChip has nearly the same compatibility as Gamma, i personally don't know a game which runs with the one and don't with the other. You only have to keep in mind that SoftChip can't run decrypted games, just get SoftChip and play around with it, this will answer most of your questions.

um.. on Softchip's google code site u can get their source, and u have to compile it yourself for the .dol file.

Yep, there isn't an official release, but it works very well. Look at the SoftChip thread for compiled .dols or look here for a guide how to compile yourself:
