Hi all, I would like to install aroma on a wiiu. Unfortunately I have no Gamepad, and I can't use internet browser without it(there is a curtain and a prompt to press x button). I've managed to setup drc-sim, but unfortunately it worked only once. I went through the initial Wii U setup, I've set up an Internet connection and I've done an update and now it isn't working anymore. After pairing, drc-sim disconnects immediately. I would like to know if I can bypass this problem. I know about UDPIH and I was wondering if I could install aroma in some way from there.
Thank you very much

Edit: I've also found that exists bluubomb. It seems that I can use it somehow to install aroma, but I am not sure

ononpnrpqcpa - I'm using a pi zero and struggling to follow the instructions. Would you or any knowledgeable folk assist with further directions? Tia

Thanks for your interest, although hopefully I'm now on the right track and this response will be of use to someone.

I was using a Pi zero, without the W, via a usb hub with ethernet to build GaryOderNichts udpih (so I can't post links).

Unfortunately, whenever I ran the command "echo "dtoverlay=dwc2" | sudo tee -a /boot/firmware/config.txt", following a reboot the device would lock out any use of the attached usb devices so build could never be executed.

My new solution will be the Pi Pico, which appears far simpler to load, as well as being cheaper than a pi upgrade.

Another solution, previously mentioned, and should probably be the first resort, is DRC SIM. Again, i can't post links, but if you Google "how to install and use Drc SIM in 2022" and make use of the linked downloads in a very helpful youtube video you should have success with the build. I didn't and failed with various versions of Ubuntu and wasted a lot of time.

Hopefully this is of use to fellow noobs, even if not to you SDIO!

Thanks again

ABS Is the big one of the common filaments that makes potentially toxic fumes (the others are less common exotic filaments that you're not likely to ever encounter)

nylon might not be great either, but it's not a common filament and you need a bit of a fancier 3d printer to print it properly
  • handy333 @ handy333:
    I'll keep that in mind.

anyway, if you can wait until black friday, keep an eye out then, i saw some nice deals last time

PLA is the most common and cheapest, and I'd recommend that to start with as a beginner if you jump into our rabbit hole.

i think you can get one of the 3d printers that run klipper for closer to $100 during black friday and that will be far more of a plug & play solution cause it has a lot of intelligent features that take away a lot of guesswork and tuning to get things printing well
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    they're $150+ right now

I'll try to hold out until black friday. I was going to try to get a steam deck but honestly, I don't think I'd use it that much.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
klipper is what all of the more premium consumer 3d printers (except bambu) run as well, they just add some extra features like built in camera with "AI"
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
being able to get that for cheap is a really good thing for people just getting into the hobby
