For the sake of my health, I can't stay up late playing games anymore. I'm trying to go to bed early, but I'm finding I can't fall asleep. What should I do?

I'm no expert on this, there may be multiple causes for your insomnia case, and (other assorted disclaimers).

With that being said, here are some general tips:
  • You may need time to adjust to a new schedule, especially if you're going to bed earlier than before.
  • Reading a book may assist with calming your body down. Meditation is always a good choice too.
  • You may need to expend more energy during the day. If you're sitting at the computer for long periods, that may contribute to the issue. A light exercise routine is a good idea, if you can fit it into your schedule.
  • I wouldn't recommend using screens too close to bedtime. The stimulation from the light may keep you awake.
  • Avoid eating too late or having sugar, caffeine, etc. in the evening. In fact, I recommend not having any stimulating beverages (coffee, black teas, matcha power drinks, etc.) after lunch.
It's not much, but I hope this helps.

This could be a little serious

You could try turning off everything, and if you want, drink a little hot water so your body can relax just enough to fall asleep

If its wayyyy too serious, set up a schedule

  1. Game until 8/9PM
  2. Leave your phone or laptop away from you, like in the living room
  3. Lay down, in complete darkness and personally, i like rolling up in the matress like a burrito :3, butttt thats your choice

I wish you the best of luck, and hope you acomplish great stuff in life ^^
