ROM Hack Injecting Pokemon ROM hack into VC?

So, I am trying to inject a Pokemon R/B/Y ROM hack into Virtual Console.
When I do so the link cable function does not work, even though it is supported for the Pokemon games.
All the ROM hack is is just a color hack with gen. 2 graphics, I would't think it would affect the link cable values.

Anyone have ideas?

Are you using Asdolo's injectors?
Because I don't think his injectors have link cable support yet. Go ask him

No, I'm using Ultimate GBC VC Injector for 3DS

So from Asdolo. His program probably doesn't have link cable support. Go ask him on that thread you linked here.
