Chiming in with some info:
  • The fw.img and rpx/rpls are universal. There are slightly newer/older versions, but every single fw.img does support the classic controller emulation.
  • There is no way you're gonna trick HAI (that's what the IOS loaded from fw.img is called) to emulate anything else than a classic controller. The code just isn't there. Without modifying fw.img (or writing your own cIOS with wiimote emulation code that does all the i2c communication and emulates wiimote itself), there is no way it will ever act as for example the wiimote. EDIT: I'm not so sure about this anymore. Looking into it.
did you compared the files to say that the fw.img is universal???
249 differences between " kirby and xenoblade " dont look universal for me

There are three different revisions of the HAI I currently know of, but all of them are universal. They are different updates of the same thing. So yes, there are differences, but that's just different revisions of the same IOS.
You dont have to believe me though, feel free to try.

No offense, but has anyone worked on doing the reverse process of decrypting Wii VC yet? I don't think I want to hear this HAI and universal and hax stuff anymore.

lets hope someday this leads to wiiu gamepad on vwii or atleast unlocking vwii clock speed to match the wiiu one so vwii emulators have more speed xD.

Reversing the process would be cool yes but people are also trying to add gamepad support to games. Thats the main reason most people would use injects of wii vc anyways.

Hi!
At my point of view, this will be impossible, i tried a lot of combinations in the metal's.xml values and it's useless, if you use GamePad (the game uses it or you changes the value) you won't can use other device, when you start the game a message says: You won't change your controller in the game, we need to find a way to use GamePad without the begging message, I found how to convert the game to a normal application, without messages, like Splatoon, SSB4, SMM... In this games you can use some devices, maybe this is near the solution
I only wanted to say this, I wanted to share my opinion
Bye and Happy Hacking!

Quick question related to the vWii, i see people talking about OSv1 vs OSv0 vs OSv10, whats the difference?
OSv0 is what you're in when you boot to vWii through the app on the Wii U System Menu. No special processes are active during this time, though reverse-engineering has shown that it may still be possible to communicate with the Gamepad in this mode.
OSv1 is what you're in when you boot to vWii through a Wii VC title. This launches the special HAI process as well which allows the gamepad to control certain games, like Xenoblade Chronicles.
OSv10 is simply the Wii U System Menu.

I hope that's cleared things up for you.

I saw someone made a fork of Mocha CFW which loads the vWii in OSv1 mode instead of OSv0, wanted to clear up what that did exactly, does that mean gamepad support on wii menu in that CFW?

If you're referring to Frappuccino CFW (that's the only Mocha fork I'm aware of), I wouldn't hold your breath. In the 6 days since he's announced it, he's done absolutely nothing but delete files and play around with graphics, not to mention half his goals for Frappuccino aren't even possible in a CFW according to some of the higher Wii U homebrew devs.

Is there another Mocha fork I haven't seen?

I need to test that vWii fork quick, but I'm too lazy to compile anything.
Sorry, but it doesn't actually do anything by itself. The actual support needs to be added into homebrew applications pending further research by JaGoTu on what certain registers' functions are in OSv1, in order to figure out which one would actually allow Gamepad input reading.

btw it is done wiiu vc injects are now possible

And concerning the tmd file corresponding to the fw.img: Isn't the signature of fw.img checked by the WiiU and not by the vWii? I guess we could just fakesign a patched fw.img, but I might be wrong there.
