Incognito

incognito
Wipes personal information from your Nintendo Switch by removing it from prodinfo.

purpose
a) So your switch can go online without worrying about a ban or using random dogdy DNS servers that are also likely to get you banned.

b) so malicious homebrew applications cannot steal your personal certificate.

disclaimer
Always have a nand backup. I am not responsible for any bricks or bans. Use at your own risk, experimental.

This application backs up your prodinfo to the SD root, you should keep this backup in a more secure location, and not leave it on the SD card where malicious applications can read it.

edit: atmosphere blocks writes to CAL0, so you must use ReiNX or SX OS to install this. Once installed, you can switch back to atmosphere.

guys, quick question
does it allow to keep game up to date or that too is off limits with incognito?

Can I use this to link profile to online account?
Nope, no connexions to Nintendo services, plain and simple. If you want to keep your games up to date, you'll have to use hbg or thebigPP or something else. I believe there are other tools for the profiles but I'm not sure.

the question that need to be asked is if this would let two consoles sharing same N account play the same game or dif ones without the pop up showing up that one consoles is playing thus letting you use both consoles at the same with dif legit eshop game

I'll be getting another switch soon, dont want it to get banned, so how does this work? If I install things like homebrew apps onto my homescreen and run this would it still ban me? So if I turn it off would I be able to buy nintendo online and still play with people and when im done I could just turn it on again?

This is effectively a self ban, it prevents the switch from contacting nintendo servers by removing the console specific cert.

If you undo this and go online, you will be banned unless you restore with a clean nand backup first.

So a better way of doing this would be to just use it and once I am done with homebrew stuff and dont want to use it anymore to just restore a nand backup that I made before installing any homebrew stuff?

The prodinfo I have saved to my sdcard says it isn't valid and incognito crashes when I try to recover from it. Any idea why?

Sounds like you are exfat, restore from the prodinfo that you immediately copied off of the SD card when you followed the directions. Or restore your pre-incognito nand backup.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
