One of the most problems i have seen on 3ds are the 3D sliders being always triggered even when it is supposedly disabled
i gotten around it by using the parental control on the 3ds so it could help to be able to disable the 3D
Being able to use the 3D slider as brightness slide would be good since there are times you need to lower the brightness but have no access on the home menu(like while playing online or with a nearby friend)
The wireless can be disabled and enabled on the Rosalina menu anyway
Other than that are the L and R but that is other story
Another idea involving Rosalina would be able to press a button a single time directly from the Rosalina menu or something like that, like for times you dont use certain button on the game but you need to press it for certain reason on one part and it is broken(mostly using the home button since you only need to press it one time)
another good thing would be able to use the d-pad as c-stick but that's just me

You could call this hardware problem or just hating the 3DS gyrosensor but it would be nice to be able to control it via the C-Stick rather than the actual sensor. But this is probably something rather difficult to do I guess.. well it's just an idea that came to my mind

@Sono might not be MCU related, but swapping screens (display the top screen on the bottom with a button combo or something) and allow for different view modes (cropped, streched, etc). A single screen 3ds would be cool.
If i may butt in, I made one of those a while back and wrote a GSP patch to redirect top screen's fb setup registers writes to the bottom screen's (not the other way around as well, though), and built it into an old (? idk if it's been updated since) version of rosalina. You'll have to disable the top screen's backlight yourself though, if you want to take it out entirely. I'm sure I did a lot of things wrong in my implementation, and don't think pixel row offsetting works properly, but if it can be of use to anyone, I figured I'd upload it here.

Any sort of solution about an broken R button?
As stated above, replacing is your best bet. Fortunately, Nintendo made the shoulder buttons more modular on their latest handhelds, so you probably wont need to solder anything, it should just plug in.

@Sono if it's not too much trouble, would you mind taking a look at cal64's code? This would be pretty neat to have if it works

Anything related to C-Stick or ZL/ZR is difficult to do, and thus I'm not the one to make it happen.

I already know how to do it, and have done it. The problem is that the top screen flickers where the bottom screen doesn't fill out the phyiscal space of the screen.

sorry, i misunderstood. that should be usable for consoles where a top screen isnt connected

Hey @Sono, do you already have an estimated release date for the flasher?

I've had some shit come up with my health, so I don't have any estimate, sorry. I haven't dev'd anything since like a week or two, so I'm not sure how long will the double-power mod to do.

Hello, there's any updates on this project?

None, sorry >.<

The flasher I made ages ago (like, back in 2018 ? that's what the youtube video date suggests, 2018/10/11). It works, it's reliable, zero bricks. In fact, it has saved me once by warning me that I left the charger plugged in and it was too discharged :P

Soft volume and soft 3D, I have made as programs, not MCU patches (although the 3D one does patch the mcu sysmodule, while the volume one overwrites the volume range registers).

MCU patches, I did not do any more, as I broke my program, it needs serious rewrite. Also all patches are for old3DS, so that doesn't help either.
One mistake, I will have a 3DS that can't turn on due to various MCU_FIRM bugs. I don't have the setup to reflash it via TOOL0.

And in unexpected turns, I even lost my job many years ago due to my declining health, and currently I'm in bed more than I'm awake due to heart problems, so consider this project dead, just like I will be soon, sorry :(

At least the volume slider issue has been solved. It's integrated into Luma but not in the latest release yet.
