I Just want to verify it is bricked and not physically broken. Apparently it turns on but just the backlight goes on. The seller on eBay didn't know what happened to it "it just stopped working". Does that sound bricked to you? It also shows nothing and plays no sound when turned on.

EDIT: I have determined that it is in fact bricked

The only suspicious thing about that is the white screen. Usually it's just black (lit black) when it's turned on.

Otherwise it sounds just like a brick.

the seller actually said just the backlight turned on, I just figured that meant white screen.

There's no way to verify...it can be anything...not just the flash...most likely its the flash but if the seller says there isn't any physical damage, its probably just a software crash.

Typically when you have an LCD screen and you only see white the LCD panel has been damaged. I.E. unable to produce the color black that mutes out the white backlight. So the screen looks white. I've bricked my PSPs on purpose for testing etc.... and have never seen a white screen like that, not even from flashing bad rcos or anything. The only time I've seen such a thing was when I cracked the contact area of the LCD panel in my mp3 player disassembling it to clear dust. Good luck....when you get it if you give more description someone can help you out. Take notice of whether or not the MS indicator comes on things like that, does the UMD drive spin up at all during boot etc..... Good luck!

Use the noob guide to make a MMS with the universal unbricker. Slap in a Pandora and in 5 minutes, Great success!
