Apple [IDEA] Facetime Camera Tweak?

Hey guys,

I have been wondering if it would be possible and great if one would take thier time just for us to make a software that will:


Allow the facetime camera to use it on other apps such as MSN for a webcam or Yahoo or something else to use the facetime camera as a webcam to contact to a PC.


Do you guys reckon if someone already thought of this?

i would need to buy a itouch with a camera before i started caring about it but i voted yess just for the fun of it

The camera is already open for App creators to utilise. I'm sure there's another voice/video communication app out already (randomly found it, forgot its name). So it could be possible to pump it down the USB cable (in theory). There are a lot of problems though such as the fact you would need to stop the ipod being identified as an iPod and instead whatever device you want it to be (i.e. you need to code a driver) andwith the closed setup of the iPod and iTunes this could be tricky.

I love how Apple continue to push Facetime as something amazing that only the iPhone does in a portable device. My old mobile (K800i) could do 3G video calling. Apple made wi-fi video calling, that's not hard.

Also, I voted all 3 to prove why you use radio buttons not check boxes in Polls. Ain't I a stinker?
