I like to think my reputation on gbatemp is still pretty strong even after my "wiitirement", so I want to officially give DeadlyFoez my endorsement on this new venture. There is no one I would trust more with my console than DeadlyFoez. If this comes to fruition, for me, there is no other choice, Foez is my guy.

I don't blame you for feeling that way. I have been here for nearly 9 years and have been doing console repairs for at least 6 years here on gbatemp alone. I have too much of a conscience to screw anyone out of their stuff.

Profanity and insults does not represent the workmanship and skills. I can think of thousands of people that swear and they are still highly respected and do fine work. It would be rather narrow minded for someone to turn down fine work just because someone uses some language that is not child friendly.

And honestly, I have always been a tough prick, and I have done many many repairs and mods in the past. My swearing and gruffness doesn't seem to turn anyone away.

That's not being a "tough prick",that is poor salesmanship. At the end of the day you are running a business esq operation,you are only hurting your sales and your image by what you are saying. I personally would not send my switch to someone that lacks the emotional maturity to contain themselves. This is very basic business stuff and I honestly think it is extremely small minded of you to react this way when people question you. People are going to bug the hell out of you and how you treat the customers is going to affect the success of the operation.

Are you trying to make money or stroke your fragile ego? Unless you have a neurological disorder that prevents you from adequately controlling your emotions,I suggest that you tone it down for the sake of your business. I recommend that you do a bit of reading on the subject because you could be costing yourself quite a bit of money.Imagine all the people that read this thread and they see that you are raging at potential future clientele. Who is to say that if a customer nags you too much you may just decide to keep their console? Emotionally volatile people are NEVER the kind of people that you want to trust with anything because you never know how they are going to react.

Even if we don't know nothing about the exploit, we know who are making it. Team Xecuter have a long history with the hacking scene for what they produce, and they produce modchips.

I for one do not understand all this hate towards Foez. He comes here with a good heart, offering his services for something that likely most of us (including me) will not be able to do. I am shit at soldering (in fact, never did it) and i know that if something requires soldering i will fuck it up.

Although i am European and never used Foez's services, his history is more than enough proof for his legitimacy. With a legacy this "legendary" in the scene, if he expands his services for us Europeans i would be more than happy to trust my switch with him.

In fact, @DeadlyFoez, if you accept postage from Portugal, consider this my "pre-order".

First off, i do have aspergers, so yes i do have a neurological disorder.
Second, the way i react to people has not affected the amount of work that i have gotten in the past, and i have certainly toned it down a bit over the years.
Third, doing console repairs and hacks is not a business, its a few extra dollars. I am not living off this work and i dont plan to or want to. I only care to make a few bucks doing something i enjoy.

If someone doesnt want to send me their console because i use bad language or because i am an asshole then it wont hurt me any. Plenty of others will send me their stuff and be happy with how well and quickly they get their stuff back. They will be the winners in the end.

Look at Steve Jobs. Thousands of people complain about how tough he was to work for and all the asshole things he did and how he treated people... But look at what he became and no one gives a damn about how he acted because he caused great products to come to the market.

My services are usually between $30 and $50 usd for my labor. The person must pay for shipping both ways and the cost of any hardware is separate.

Unfortunately, i am willing to bet that this modchip will be close to $100 because they will want to make as much money as possible before others reverse engineer their work. After that it will drop in price to like $30 or something, but that wont be for many months out.

Those are just predictions, but based upon the current market and TX's past, i would expect that is how things will play out.

I will accept shipments from anywhere, but it seems too costly to get a console shipped to me from anywhere outside the mainland north america.

Hell, if you can find a few more consoles to ship to me at the same time then that will save on shipping and i will give a bit of a price break.

For those here that are europeans like me, $40 its like 33€. Shipping both ways from portugal to international for a under 1kg package it's something like 20€. I guess it all depends on the price of the modchip itself!

also do people usually insure their 300 dollar console? and how much does it cost to insure if yes?

I have never had anyone insure their console. IDK why. Maybe because their consoles were broken so why pay the extra amount to insure something that is broken. I honestly dont know. I don't ever remember anyone asking about it before either. I certainly am not going to pay out of my pocket to insure someones console. That is at their discretion. But I can say that USPS has not once failed with shipping me a console or shipping it back. I am sure it will happen eventually.

Some people purchase a return shipping label when they send the console out, other people just include extra cash in the package to cover the return shipping.

Try Coolchip, they are from Portugal.. RGH complete installation on the 360 4 example there is 50eur including chip and 3 month warranty...

I bet when TX comes they will have the Switch there.

And if you know BtNext, there were probably hundreds of good feedback from them.

I also sent a few X360 to them from Madeira Island to Portugal and 0 problems!

an exploit that requires you to stay on 3.0.0 stick it up your ass i'd rather pay for a hard mod and have the freedom to do ANYTHING than wait years for a shitty exploit to work properly. them devs only released the exploit so they could be 1st after hearing what team x is cooking up. but they can't compete with it and they know it!

I would like to add that for me the converse is often the case. I am more likely to do business with someone who says what they feel rather than what they ought say.

First, i made this thread before the other dude.
Second, you think $50 is not reasonable? Shit, thats what i used to charge for doing wii repairs and that is the lowest service fee i have for any of the electronics repairs i do. Do you do all of you own car repairs, appliance repairs, and all other repairs to avoid paying a $100 per hour labor charge? Because thats how it is in the real world. People need to eat and survive.
