I never understood all the crap-talking that is going between the a9lh and menuhax camps.

All the other 3DS forums are laughing at us, you guys know that right?

A9lh people, why does it affect your existence in the slightest if someone chooses to do OTP extraction or not?

Menuhax people, i know you are sick of all the a9lh master race cancerous-aids that is going on, but posting negative stuff about a9lh is fuelling the fire. Just ignore them. Please.

BTW: I use a9lh and menuhax on my multiple 3DS units :)
That's not exactly what happens. Menuhax people usually don't have a problem with the a9lh masterrace people unless they explicitely first ask for a feature that is only available with a9lh like "I'm tired of that boot rate", "join the a9lh masterrace, peasant". Well the answer is unnecessarily mean, but it's still true. Menuhax users who are happy with menuhax and don't complain don't have any answers like that, so they don't fuel any fire.

But for the "A9lh people, why does it affect your existence in the slightest if someone chooses to do OTP extraction or not?", yeah, you're right, no idea why some people shitpost others just because they use menuhax. And same about the aforementionned "unnecessarily mean" answer, it is possible to be helpful without being mean.

I'm unsure if you have been viewing the same threads that i have been, but as of recently, it seems as though the usual a9lh shitposters feel the need to chime into any thread that is about gateway, menuhax or sky3ds, regardless of the issue and fill up the thread with "there's a solution for that, it's called a9lh" nonsense.

Yup, agree with this 100%

Yeah like I said 20 seconds to hard reset if anything goes wrong the only reason I don't switch to it because Im kinda happy with what I have all of software boots 90% of the time except brwserhax but thats it everything else works fine

Im really sorry to ask this but I dont want to brick my 3ds. My sysnad is 9.2 and my emunand is on latest fw, im using rxtools to boot. Can I start on step 4 or do I need to install rednand?

Yeah, I see them too, but on the other hand, sometimes some people use "peasant" alternatives because they don't know about "masterrace" solutions. You can see this post for example, where I give links to posts where clearly, people were using a Sky3DS because they thought it was good, not because it was what suit their need (unlike menuhax people who do use what suit their needs, with a lower bootrate than a9lh but that's not the biggest problem on earth). I'm not saying a9lh (or CFW in general) suits their need better, I'm saying they never compared both due to not even being aware of the alternatives. But obviously, once again, the "help" that was given in that topic I linked to didn't use the best tone ever...

So I think it would be great indeed if people stopped being annoying d*cks (especially stop insisting if someone already said "no" to a9lh once) but that doesn't mean people should stop advising a9lh when it's a solution, not just to be annoying, so for example probably don't advise a9lh to a Gateway user using cheats...

seriously though, i've done 4 units to A9LH and one of them bricked by chance. i got the OTP fine and it just fucked me over upon restoring sysnand. there's always a brick chance, it's never 0%.

Not really In the homebrew tutorial I was stuck on the text thinking that the 3ds folder was the Nintendo 3ds folder and deleting it only leaving the 3ds folder and boot.3dsx
For future reference if a text tut says folder "xyz" you would do folder "xyz" not folder "123 xyz"if they wanted you to mess with "123 xyz" they would have said it.

As the title states, I admit that I was wrong all this time.
Couple days ago I made an ass out of myself claiming that the arm9loaderhax has a 30 % brick rate even if done right. Well last night I decided to give it a try and followed the whole tutorial carefully and woe and behold, it was successful. The OTP Helper works wonders and it prevents the chance of bricking.

So here I am, apologizing to those I have offended and annoyed, and I am admitting that I was wrong and was being a total jackass.

72.4% of statistics on online forums are made up on the spot.

Even with the 30% statistic you somehow arrived at the odds were still greatly in your favour with a 70% success rate, so how do you know you we're not actually correct and got lucky? ;)

Only messing with you! congrats on the install :)

I think your only wrong is your method of reasoning.
First you use an unwetted guide and have a sample size of one and conclude a 30% trend.
Then later you do one more and I don't know what you conclude now?

Anyway :) Just saying that the only wrong of you is your method of reasoning, not saying you are a jackass (I don't know either way about that)

you cant test a '30% fail rate was false' by only doing one console.

You can't test a '30% fail rate is true' by only doing one console.

Although I'd say brickrate is quite low. Plailect did some polls, they were under 3% iirc.

None of the polls can really be used for figuring out an actual rate. It would have to of been a forced poll of every system for it to mean anything.
