I hate the future generative ai is leading us towards I hate how we are replacing human soul with an enslaved artificial intelligence being force fed art until theres no more art so they just start making them eat their own generated images into some unholy ouroboros just because they don't wanna bother commissioning an artist

Yeah I follow artists on social media platforms, I watch alot of animated shows.
Hily shit! Oh my god. Be sure to follow me because I eat and live from followers.
Also, thanks for being a couch potato, that surely helps us too, like, you can't imagine how.

You kinda just sound like a dick lmao. This is the 2nd time you've done this. Anyways I'm 16 and most artists I follow online are around my age and usually do art as a hobby and don't need to rely on it as a form of income. This is probably "ragebait" but its still kinda pathetic for someone whos 31...:rofl2:

How exactly you support "artists"?

You're buying into fear mongering. Artists aren't going anywhere. Neither is traditional art. There are probably more important things to spend this energy on
I believe ai art will be a fad just like nfts but I'm just annoyed by how much ai generated slop is pushed in my face. I hated Coco cola having an ai generated commercial. Ai is already started to train off other ai images from the extreme surge in Ai "art" on the internet its only maybe 2 years max before we reach the breaking point where Ai starts to look so awful we go back to the way thins are before I'm just annoyed by it.

You underestimate the ability of people to understand art not by the matters of human expression but as pure means of consumption

Its not only an industry full of over-explotation already but if the market calls for cheaper and faster then cheaper and faster we will receive

At the best case scenario artist will have a price and selling drought from the general public

Honestly I think people are pushing AI too much.

I heard this one ad on the radio. Pretty sure it was Wells Fargo or something. They have an AI thing for your bank account that has the ability to shut off your credit card.

I would obviously not be comfortable with a glorified google having that much power over my bank account.

i concur. Artists, much like musicians are very VERY passionate at what they do, any hobby you can think of you'll find people trying to shoehorn Ai into it in some shape or form with the reason that it will improve productivity

i bring this to the table: what if i don't want help to improve productivity?

We struggle for a reason, when we struggle, we learn from what we're doing wrong and try to do better, especially when something we are passionate about is involved, if i needed help on how to get better at drawing, I'd read a book on tips or maybe ask a friend with more experience than i.

that's essentially my personal take. a lot of things AI does doesn't exactly interest me from a progression standpoint, it's why it's better for one to simply do what they like as they've been doing, artists and hobbies will always live on

I always imagine sentient robots being enslaved when I hear a company mention their new ai feature. Like nooooo robotic boy don't enter the warehouse.

Yeah, I don't think it's a big deal either, the part I quoted suggests there is some degree of "competition" between AI and "real art" if only because the viewer's free time is finite - and I agree with that, but on most other points it's not really competing (see last month's topic "is Nintento winning the console wars", I can see lots of parallels)

It's also funny for a few minutes to see what a computer can come up with when you tell it something like "electric Musk" but the results, even for more factual content, are clearly not a substitute for human expression - except for bean counters trying to cut all corners, but so what, real Amateurs* are the ones engaging in hobbies/sports/manufacturing exactly because they care about their actual result and/or themselves more than financial endowment or questionable audience share metrics!

* Cambridge dictionary: "a person who takes part in an activity for pleasure, not as a job"

If utilitarian efficiency would be universally paramount, the whole world would be speaking English exclusive-or Chinese, nobody would be making ISA cards, etc :)

If you use AI for anything that doesn't use most of your brain's resources, it's obvious that you lack the understanding of the subject. Such a waste of bloody time. I hate the next generation who are using AI to eat away creativity, it goes to show what kind of person they are.

You're just being in the dickhead range acting like a total child. It's pretty pathetic.

Art requests still exists

I used to do art for free
You should totally put that into a business and get people to pay real hard earned money for it. I've seen your work and I gotta say I'm impressed. :)

No no no, thank you, but no no no, it was never about the money, I did it because I like art and the requests were for the needy who needed it (Even if I barely got any and took in-)
