I need help

Hello, I hope everyone is well. I recently bought a Nintendo DS that came with an R4. I don't know how to put images here, but it's silver and says R4I unlimited upgradeable , but when I put it in the ds and open it I get an error that says "An error has occurred, Press and hold the POWER button to turn off the console" I have tried several karnels but none of them work, could you help me?

Are you using a DS or a DSi? This error message sounds very much like a DSi blocking the R4. Putting different content on the µSD inside the R4 will have no effect on this.

You will have to either upgrade the R4 firmware with an older DS (if an update is available) or disable the blocklist with unlaunch or try booting the R4 with TWilight Menu++ (which can on a DSi be used instead of the R4)

I think I do have a DSi, But I don't have access to another DS, is there another option to fix it?

Could you explain to me how to do the last option you gave me, I could try but I didn't understand much.
