I have just installed ff6 for android and now I am greeted with a screen that says download with 0mb/0mb and 0%. The app has been open with the screen for a hour, I would like to know wtf is going on with this game.

where did you get the game from? if its not from google play then it probably has anti piracy in it

What is your internet speed also as a bad connection can make large files take a while or it could be a bug with the app.
