Hardware I need a little help with some console questions.

I come across this awesome site and was wondering if any of you can help me with a few questions that are playing on my mind .

Basically, I purchased a new Xbox Slim 4GB Model from a friend and at first, I was wondering whether it was flagged or something ( no real reason I guess), but the way it was packaged, everything still sealed, the smell, it seems totally new to me.

My question are,

Is there a way to see if a console has been flagged and, would it be fine to test a burnt dvd/game to see whether the console is flashed ( Hoping it's not).

Your only way to test whether it's banned or not is to hook it up to Live.
To test if it's flashed, burn a game to a DVD and try to boot it.

Seeing it's a 4GB Slim, I hardly doubt that it's flashed, unless your mate knows about modding etc.
