I must have thought that same thing. Anyway, "install" didn't sound right for just copy pasting those.

Well that's basically what installing is, extracting the installer files to the work directory for your program to run

Play Whackmania, in my opinion the best homebrew game up to date. DrawAttack, portal3DS and 3DScraft are definitely worth trying too. Also, you can use 3DS controller and turn your 3DS into wireless PC gamepad. That's about all I can think of
